BWC Special Investigations Unit Executes Search Warrant, Launches Fraud Investigation at TPA

Columbus, Ohio – A search warrant was executed this morning at Burke and Associates, 7515 Pearl Road, Suite 103, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130. Burke and Associates is a third-party administrator (TPA) that provides services such as workers’ compensation claims management for employers.

The warrant was executed by the Special Investigations Unit of the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) and Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann’s Office. The purpose of the warrant is to obtain additional evidence regarding allegations that Burke and Associates may have altered or changed employers’ MCO enrollment cards. MCO enrollment cards are used by employers to select the managed care organization of their choice.

Upon execution of the search warrant, the Special Investigations Unit of the BWC successfully seized records, documents, and materials relevant to the investigation.
