HPP Electronic Remittance Advice/Provider 835

Review and comment period begins

May 1, 2003, begins a review and comment period for the Remittance Advice Provider EDI Implementation Documentation, which will be used in the Health Partnership Program (HPP). The HPP electronic remittance advice is an electronic data interchange (EDI) transaction set that managed care organizations will generate and send to health-care providers for medical bill reconciliation.

This remittance advice is an X12 835 Health Care Claim Payment/Advice transaction set, also know as Provider 835. BWC has posted the Provider 835 documentation in the Electronic billing section under Medical providers. The draft document will be available there for review throughout the month of May.

BWC encourages MCOs, health-care providers and other interested parties to e-mail feedback to BWC EDI Support. Please make the subject of your e-mail Provider 835.

The BWC EDI Team and HPP System Support will work together to review and incorporate feedback into the final Provider 835 documentation. The final document should be posted July 1, 2003.
