Lost time from work
|
Within 28 days from the date your claim was reported, BWC will determine whether or not you have a valid claim. If you or your employer disagree with the decision, you may file an appeal with the Industrial Commission of Ohio (IC) within 14 days of BWC’s decision. According to ORC 4123.55, the injured worker is not entitled to temporary total compensation for the first seven days of the disability period unless he/she is disabled for 14 or more consecutive days. Example: If you miss 12 days of work, you will be paid for the 8th day through the 12th day. If you missed 14 work days or more due to your allowed injury or illness, you will be compensated for the total number of work days you missed from the date of the injury/occupational disease. |
