BWC to launch new website in 2018

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation will launch a new website in 2018. The first phase, which is expected to go live early in the year, will focus on those areas customers see prior to logging in. We'll focus on content and services that exist after logging in later in the year.

Our current site, dates back to 2000, with a cosmetic brushing up in 2005. For the better part of a year, we've worked with internal staff, customers and outside consultants to better understand how customers want to use our website and how to best create a design to meet those expectations. The result is a site that provides a better customer experience through better design, easier navigation and more relevant content.

While the design change may be most apparent, there are other changes. Content will be timelier, much shorter and easier to read. This lets you scan a page, understand what it's for and move quickly to conduct business online. The new site will also better meet guidelines for accessibility. Examples include color schemes that help improve readability and fewer .pdfs, which interfere with software for the visually impaired.

Because the design and content is completely new, you'll need to familiarize yourself with the new site. Also, while the main site URL will remain https://www.bwc.ohio.gov/, many individual pages will be replaced by new content. This means any bookmarks or favorites you've saved will no longer work.

Stay tuned here for more information regarding the new site, including more on the look, changes over the next few months.
