Ohio's youth are the working adults of the future and keeping them safe at work is a top priority for BWC. To promote youth safety, BWC would like to partner with youth, parents, employers and educators to provide the education and support for youth workers. The toolkits on this Web page provide resources and tools to assist us.

Youth tool kit

This kit is designed to help youth, both employed and those considering employment, make informed choices about their working environment. The goal is to provide resources to youth, focusing primarily on safety and health in the workplace.

Educator tool kit

Educators of youth today are challenged with preparing them for self-sufficiency in a fast-paced world; one where safety may be a buried priority. This kit is designed to complement the curriculums of youth educators as they work toward successfully preparing our youth with academic and work-life skills, while stressing the need for safety in the workplace. This focus on safety will impact every aspect of their lives.

Parent tool kit

Parents are naturally concerned with the well-being of their children; from the crib to the first day of driving, all with safety of their children in mind. The BWC parent tool kit provides parents of youth resources as they assist their children in making workplace choices, with safety in mind. Parental participation in youth work decisions based on safety will not only enhance the parent-child relationship but will serve to develop the focus of safety as a top priority in their lives.

Employers of youth face issues with their young workers which they will not find in the older work force. The BWC employer tool kit provides resources and information for employers to promote safety and health to protect young workers, while reminding employers the importance of safety for all their work force.
