  Oregon’s Center for Research on Occupational and Environmental Toxicology sponsors this directory which contains links to hundreds of occupational safety and health resources. Topics include safety toolbox talks and specific industries and occupations.


CANADIAN CENTRE FOR OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY
  Offers information and resources such as "OSH Answers," an Internet directory and safety-related acronyms.


CORNELL UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY
  Offers information for biological safety, emergency services, fire safety, occupational safety, and general safety for starters. The files can be obtained either in text form or PowerPoint.


NATIONAL SAFETY COUNCIL
  Covers workplace and public safety issues, environmental health, as well as council activities and publications.


NYCOSH
  New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health provides safety and health news and information, with topics on immigrant, young and women workers, hazards of specific industries and worker rights.


OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
  The online safety library for OSU's Environmental Health & Safety department offers a variety of information. From safety manuals to machine guarding, telecommuting, and welding this site is easily accessible and very comprehensive.


SEABRIGHT RESOURCE LIBRARY
  SeaBright Insurance Company publishes safety training materials on a wide variety of topics.


STANFORD UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY
  Many safety programs and manuals are available on this web site. Special topics include laser safety, earthquake safety, lab and fire safety, as well as safe holiday practices and winter storm preparedness.


FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

AGENCY FOR TOXIC SUBSTANCES AND DISEASE REGISTRY
  Look for information on hazardous substances, emergency response and hazardous waste sites.


BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS, SAFETY AND HEALTH
  Find national statistics on work-related injuries and illnesses and fatalities.


CDC
  Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Provides access to information from the National Center for Health Statistics, the National Center for Infectious Diseases, and the National Center for Environmental Health. Includes health topics from A-Z, data and statistics, and travelers’ health.


EPA
  Environmental Protection Agency. Provides a wealth of information on a wide range of topics. Of particular interest: resources on lead, asbestos, indoor air quality, mold and school environmental issues.


FEMA
  Federal Emergency Management Agency. Features a virtual library and electronic reading room with information ranging from emergency response and recovery to animals in emergencies and FEMA for kids.


MSHA
  Mine Safety & Health Administration. Features information on noise, dust, statistics, safety bulletins and talks, training, regulations, and rescue.


NIOSH
  National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health. Provides current information on services and research, including mining health & safety, health care injuries, respirators, and firefighting hazards. Many of their publications are available online.

  Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Includes OSHA media releases, online publications, statistics, OSHA standards & directives, “Technical Links,” training center courses, “hot topics,” and “what’s new.”

  Use the “Topic Index” to find Ohio EPA regulations and information on permits, hazardous waste, and pollution prevention.


OHIO UTILITIES PROTECTION SERVICE
  This is the "Call Before You Dig" website, by the organization to call in Ohio before excavating or digging.


OHIOLINK
  A statewide library and information network. Search the State Library of Ohio’s collection for BWC’s Div. of Safety & Hygiene library books.

AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARDS INSTITUTE
  Provides ANSI’s on-line catalog of international and national consensus standards.


BIOLOGICAL SAFETY
  Includes information on proposed federal rules and regulations, biosafety resources, manuals and guidelines, DNA, biomedical waste, and bloodborne pathogens. From Michigan State University.


DRIVING SAFETY
  The Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) offers resources for preventing traffic crashes that occur both on- and off-the-job.


DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE
  The National Drug-Free Workplace Alliance provides information and resources to assist employers in establishing drug-free workplaces.


eLCOSH
  An electronic library of construction safety and health information presented in both English and Spanish. Items are listed under trade, hazard, and job site and others, which includes checklists, women and minorities and miscellaneous resources.


ELECTRICAL & MAGNETIC FIELDS
  Provides information about possible health effects of exposure to electrical and magnetic fields. From the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.


ERGOWEB
  Features an “ErgoZine”, ergonomics discussion list, case studies, buyers guide, references, and standards.


HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AND HAZARDOUS WASTE
  The National Clearinghouse for Worker Safety and Health Training is a resource for workers and trainers who are involved in the handling of hazardous waste or in responding to emergency releases of hazardous materials and terrorist actions.


HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM
  OSHA's Web page on hexavalent chromium includes the text of the 2006 final rule as well as information on health effects and control measures.


INDOOR AIR QUALITY
  Compiled by the National Library of Medicine, this Web page provides information on a variety of indoor air topics as well as glossaries, database searches and Web pages in Spanish.


INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE
