2018 MCO open enrollment
April 30 to May 25, 2018

The 2018 MCO open enrollment period begins at 7:30 a.m., April 30 and ends at 5:30 p.m., May 25.

Open enrollment gives all state-fund employers an opportunity to choose a managed care organization (MCO) to help manage the medical portion of their workers' compensation claims. A strong MCO-employer partnership also helps injured workers receive the treatment they need to get back to work as safely and quickly as possible.

Choosing an MCO that meets the needs of your business and your workers is an important decision. To help you make your choice, we have created the MCO Selection Guide and MCO Report Card (see related links below). Take time to connect with your MCO.

The guide provides instructions. The report card provides MCO performance information intended to help you with the selection process. These measures include quality medical-management statistics we use to evaluate the return-to-work services and quality of medical management the MCOs provide to injured workers.

If you are satisfied with your MCO, you do not need to do anything. However, if you decide to select a new MCO, you can complete the online MCO Selection Form. You may also download and print a blank form, complete it and mail or fax it to BWC. We have included links to the online form and the printable form below. If you change your MCO during open enrollment, the new MCO will begin managing the medical portion of your claims July 2, 2018.

Note: MCOs cannot market their services to employers before April 30. However, if you would like more information, you may contact any MCO prior to the open enrollment period. MCOs may respond to requests initiated by employers prior to April 30.

We designed the resources below to help you with the open enrollment process. However, if you need additional assistance, please call 1-800-644-6292.
