Lump sum settlement options for state agencies

BWC’s Lump Sum Settlement (LSS) Direct Reimbursement Payment and Rating Program offers state agencies not currently participating in a settlement payment program the choice of excluding lump sum settlement payments from rate calculation. The program is open to all public employer state agencies (PES), including cabinet member and non-cabinet agencies but not universities or university hospitals. This program requires state agencies to make a three-year commitment and is renewed automatically unless BWC is notified otherwise.

Eligible PES employers not currently participating in a BWC LSS program must submit the Lump Sum Settlement (LSS) Direct Reimbursement Payment and Rating Program for Public Employer State Agencies (U-145) by Dec. 31 to be considered for the program year that begins the following July 1.
